To test how the game works I decided to borrow 300 gold from the Templars (ie "me"), which of course immediately took 300 gold from me and gave it to - me ! Some time later I received a request to indenture my son into the Templars. This reminds me of the time I console'd myself into playing as the Grandmaster of the Knights Templar.

I could have refused and thus gotten the malus (but my son would still be in the Templars !), but in the end I decided to accept so my son went - nowhere - and I had my "debt" forgiven ! You could execute yourself (you rascally rapscallion you !), but it would probably be best if you ransomed yourself - you lose/gain the ransom then become free. Now that YOU are the person jailing yourself you will get the options to ransom yourself, execute yourself or set yourself free. Using the console command to imprison yourself has no effect on the first item (you are still in jail), but it changes the second (who is the person jailing you).

The game records two things - the fact that you are in jail, and the fact that "X" is the person who jailed you.
